What is Energy Awareness?

Statistics show that 5 to10% energy savings can be achieved through occupant changes and awareness.

Energy Awareness training (EA) is a program that builds teamwork among co-workers in conserving energy, water and reducing waste all the while reducing costs at work and at home. The session provides valuable information; both technical and behavioural that will help individuals save; both energy and money. Statistics show that 5 to10% energy savings can be achieved through occupant changes and awareness.

Who Can Participate?

EA is open to all organizations and workplaces. Most individuals who use the facility attend the program. This includes managers, cleaning personnel, volunteers, office staff, and administration. All play an integral role in energy use of a building.

What Will You Learn?

Issues related to energy production and use

Energy efficiency ratings

Energy efficient use of:

Office equipment | Kitchen and lunch room | Lighting | Heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems | Building envelope

How to save energy through waste reduction and efficient use of water

Energy efficient travel

What does it Entail?

Participants in this program will receive:

A two-hour seminar explaining the impact of occupant behavior on overall energy use.

Simple methods to reduce your consumption

A manual of helpful information and tips to refer to at work, home and on the move.

On-site presentations.

EA focuses on the behavioural changes we can each make to reduce energy consumption. SES will provide on-site presentations, which are typically two hours, although this time frame is flexible. Some organizations have broken down the program into smaller time increments.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout the session, and at the end, fill out a commitment form indicating changes that they will make. This information can then be provided back to the organizations showing what their Greenhouse Gas reduction should be.

Manuals are provided to those who participate in the program. These manuals contain further information that will be useful both in the work and home environment.

Pricing?

Each EA session costs $500 plus $7 per person attending (for the cost of the manual), plus travel time and expenses.

The following bulk rates are available:
Sessions 1-10: $500 each
Sessions 11-20: $425 per session
Sessions 21 and above: $400 per session
